DELUXE
–Colin Nun
Colin Nun experiments with how language is depicted and how the viewer perceives language. His text-based paintings explore the idea of conveying the meaning of words, using words themselves as imagery. His carefully constructed typographic motifs are deeply rooted in graphic design, influenced by pop culture, cinema, advertising graphics and ephemera.
Colin is a Canadian born artist living and working in his hometown of Welland Ontario. His studies include Niagara College Canada from 2000 to 2002, NSCAD University in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2003 for his degree, and OCAD University in Toronto from 2006 to 2009. Colin has exhibited his work at several group shows in Toronto and has received awards from Creative Quarterly.
